Chain O'Lakes Engagement Session // Tyler + Kyrie

Chain O'Lakes Engagement Session // Tyler + Kyrie

They first crossed paths during freshman year in high school when they sat near each other in Spanish class. Something sparked between them, but since both Kyrie and Tyler were in different relationships, they turned the spark into a casual high school friendship. As fate would have it, that wasn’t the end of their story. A year later, they found themselves side by side in a geometetry class and now, both single, their friendship started to grow. They started hanging out outside of school, and one night as they laid and looked at the Indiana stars above them, they decided they were dating.

Tyler and Kyrie’s laid-back, relaxed personalities and complete adoration for each other  made aspects of their relationship easy even though some would consider making it through nursing school, the military, and the growing pains of life nearly an impossible feat. And last winter, on a family trip, Tyler took Kyrie under the Christmas lights and asked her to be his wife. Finally, their hard work had paid off.

They’ll be married next summer in a low-key, laidback affair - so fitting to their personalities. We celebrated their engagement by wandering through the forests and lakes of Chain O’Lakes and taking the time to relax and enjoy the fall during the craziness of Kyrie’s last year of Nursing school. Kyrie and Tyler, I had such a joyful and relaxing time documenting your relationship and I’m so excited to witness your day next year! Counting down - xx, M

Two EE's Winery Engagement Session // Courtney + Seth

Two EE's Winery Engagement Session // Courtney + Seth

They were high school sweethearts - the kind where everyone around them thought they should be together long before they themselves admitted it. For such a long time, they were just friends. That was it. That was all they would ever be. Courtney’s bubbly and outgoing personality would not be a good match with Seth’s rather shy and laid-back demeanor. But in all reality, they were the perfect balance.

They spent the next handful of years supporting one another and being each other’s biggest cheerleaders. Even through the long distance and the weeks where life was a whirlwind, they were there for each other. No matter what, they met up for football games, tailgating, movie nights, and wine. It was only appropriate that after almost 7 years, that Seth handed Courtney a bottle of handmade wine with a custom-made label that depicted the two of them and the words “Will You Marry Me?” scripted on it.

Since Seth proposed with wine, we thought it was only appropriate to celebrate their engagement at a winery. They’ll be married next summer in front of the loved ones that have supported them all along. Courtney and Seth - I can’t wait to be there to celebrate with you and document the day! Counting down - xx, M

Bright and Colorful Downtown Fort Wayne Engagement Session // Becky and Michael

Bright and Colorful Downtown Fort Wayne Engagement Session // Becky and Michael

They sat on the couch, watching a movie, when Becky turned towards Michael and asked what they were. They had spent the last few months as close friends, hanging out for Lord of the Ring movie nights and bonding over takeout food. Just as suddenly as the friendship had originally started, they were dating. It wasn't long after that that both of them knew this was it - they were both in it for  the long haul. Michael, the easygoing, laid-back, humorous personality balanced Becky's planner heart, literal mind and Type A personality perfectly.

They bought a house with a hobbit door and started planning their life together. Becky, being the planner that she is, told Michael on the night of his 29th birthday that she'd like to be engaged in the next year. Almost a year later- on a trip up to Northern Michigan - in true easy-going Michael fashion, he asked Becky to be his wife on the day before his 30th birthday.

They'll be married next September in the transition of seasons under the elegant roof of Baker Street Train Station. Becky and Michael, exploring the alleys and landscapes of downtown with you was so much fun and I loved your idea of bringing balloons - seriously counting down until we are exploring downtown once again in just a few short months on your wedding day! xx- M

Romantic Franke Park Engagement Session // Grace + Adam

Romantic Franke Park Engagement Session // Grace + Adam

They initially met as coworkers and a friendship slowly sparked as they shared shifts and mutual work friends.  Over time, she realized that he wanted something more than the friendship they already shared. The way her eyes twinkled when she smiled and her outgoing personality swept him almost immediately off his feet.

But when Adam put himself out there and asked Grace out on a date, she initially turned him down. Adam didn't give up. He pushed and was patient, and finally Grace started to realize that the quiet and laid-back coworker took up more room in her heart than a typical friendship would. A few years later, they were sitting under the lights of the Christmas tree when Adam handed her the best gift of all - asking her to be his wife

We decided that it was only appropriate to celebrate their engagement with their four-month old Great Dane  - and holy cow she was cute! They'll be married next summer - a day they've been dreaming about for years - among the closest family and friends. Grace and Adam, thank you for toughing the weather and the chilliness, and I can't wait to document your day next summer! xx - M

Whimsical Autumn Wedding at The Sycamore at Mallow Run Winery // Kristin + Gabe

Whimsical Autumn Wedding at The Sycamore at Mallow Run Winery // Kristin + Gabe

When she walks into a room, it immediately brightens and smiles break out on the friends and families faces that surround her. Even in the most stressful, chaotic moments in life, Kristin pours her heart and soul into caring and protecting the ones she loves most. It was only fitting that she cross paths with Gabe, the guy who always had his teammates back and who is always up for a laugh, a group of friends, and an adventure. Even in the beginning stages of their relationship as juniors in high school, their family could see- this was different. Although they were just teenagers at the time, they supported and cheered each other on in the ways of life just like two old, mature souls would.

On the perfect, sunny autumn day, happy tears welled up in the eyes of Gabe, Kristen, and all of their witnesses as Gabe turned around to see the woman that held his heart walk down the aisle. From reading love letters in the vineyard just moments before their ceremony, to sneaking outside for a quiet moment under the market lights during the middle of the reception, Kristin and Gabe strived to cherish every moment throughout the day. As the last song of the evening played, they danced alone in the empty reception room as husband and wife. Finally.

Kristin and Gabe, spending the day with you was a complete fairytale - we felt so welcomed by your family and friends and it was such a privilege to document your day. Wishing you eternal years of happiness and lots of relaxing margaritas in Mexico - xx, M + A

Holcomb Gardens Engagement Session // Sarah + Kevin

Holcomb Gardens Engagement Session // Sarah + Kevin

She claims she first noticed him when he started leaning over to cheat off her papers in science class. While he readily denies the cheating, Kevin thanks his lucky stars that he happened to sit next to the smartest (and prettiest) girl in the class. A friendship soon sparked and Sarah started sharing homework tips instead of Kevin stealing them. They quickly blossomed into high school sweethearts and as graduation loomed in the distance they started planning how they would embark on the next chapter of their live by each others side.

They spent their college years attending Purdue football games, sporting the black and gold, and talking about their future. Through the post-college long-distance phase, with Kevin in Florida and Sarah in the Midwest, they remained steadfast and by each others side.  When they were finally reunited in the same state, on a drizzly July evening right before a Cubs game, Kevin nervously took Sarah to a rooftop restaurant in the heart of bustling Chicago and asked her to be his wife. Before he could even get all of the words out, Sarah screamed her answer with tears streaming down her cheeks.

They'll be married next summer after dreaming of the day since they met on day one. To say I'm excited is an understatement - Kevin and Sarah, you two are the bubbly and brightest souls and I can't wait to celebrate with you next summer when you finally tie the knot! Counting down the days - xx, M

Elegant Bergstaff Place Autumn Wedding // Jourdan and Trevor

Elegant Bergstaff Place Autumn Wedding // Jourdan and Trevor

Half a century ago, on a brisk autumn day, a young girl curled her hair as the love of her life buttoned his suit just a few rooms over. Never would they have thought that 50 years to the day later, their grandchild, Trevor, would be clasping hands with the girl of his dreams around the corner of the stairwell, praying for the marriage and the journey they were about to embark on.

It was a date that had been already celebrated in his family for generations, and as fate would have it, just the very day before, Trevor asked the brown-eyed girl out on their very first date. Five years and one day later, he watched her walk down the aisle as tears streamed down his cheeks. The seventh day of October held a special place in Jourdan and Trevors heart, and they couldn't think of a better way to celebrate their wedding and five year anniversary than to share the anniversary date with Trevors parents, grandparents, and great grandparents.

The day was beyond perfect, and they spend the hours bursting with joy at the fact that they were finally husband and wife. Five years of growing with one another, cheering each other on through exams and graduation, and supporting each other with the fullest hearts, the high school sweethearts were finally together for a lifetime. Jourdan and Trevor, the thought of your day still brings tears to my eyes and warms my heart - thank you for treating us like one of the family and being the kindest souls one could hope to document. Enjoy that hurricane free honeymoon, you two deserve it! xx, M&M

Joyful and Whimsical Goeglein's Homestead Wedding // Logan + Amber

Joyful and Whimsical Goeglein's Homestead Wedding // Logan + Amber

The day promised rain and dreariness, but nothing could wipe the glowing smile from Logan's face as he fastened his suit as rain dripped down the window. In just a few moments he would stand back-to-back with the Alabama girl that just so happened to sit behind him all those years ago in an accounting class. The bubbly hazel-eyed girl that he couldn't shake from his mind when he was on a blind date with another girl was now about to become his wife.

As Amber and Logan stood and read the love letters they wrote to each other, the rain held off and the tiniest sliver of sunshine peaked through the grey clouds. Tears rolled down both of their faces as they turned around and their eyes met for the first time on their wedding day. Everyone that day said that Amber and Logan were a match made in heaven, and it couldn't be more true. Only God could plan the crossed paths of an Indiana boy and an Alabama girl.  Logan's world revolves around Amber and he holds her with a protective, gentle embrace, and Amber would do anything for the man who makes her laugh until her sides hurt.

They celebrated their marriage in the same place where Logan held a diamond ring and asked his best friend to be his wife. The rain held off, happy tears streamed down friends and families faces, and Amber and Logan promised to stand by each others side for life. Amber and Logan, spending the day with you and your families was an incredible honor and you two could not be more perfectly matched for each other. Praying the rain keeps holding off as you enjoy those Mexico beaches! xx- M + C

Boho Industrial Wedding at The Brick // Samantha + Travon

Boho Industrial Wedding at The Brick // Samantha + Travon

Everyone who witnessed the small intimate ceremony that day all noticed, and already knew, the same thing - Samantha and Travon were unlike most couples. As two kids who met at the beginning of high school, they spent almost the next decade growing up together as best friends, confidants, cheerleaders, parents, and holding each others hearts. Their worlds revolved around each other and their daughter, and that's the only way Samantha and Travon could have ever imagined it.

Finally, after all the years of doing life together, they promised each other a lifetime of love and happiness below the market lights of a warehouse, surrounded by only the closest of family and friends. Even on the day that celebrated how far they had come and how far they would go, they spent the day hand-in-hand and strived to cherish every moment.

Samantha and Travon, witnessing and documenting your day was the greatest honor and I love how you love one another. I can't wait to see how you take life on as a team and how you take on the world side by side. All the love- M

Indian Creek Farm Engagement Session // Tyler and Kelsey

Indian Creek Farm Engagement Session // Tyler and Kelsey

He was the wild child of the family. The boy with skinned knees and mud on his boots - the boy who always fought back when someone told him what to do. He spent his days amongst his parents stables, training horses and traveling the nation for shows. It was only destiny that he would meet the girl that would calm his untamed heart at a horse show.

Kelsey and Tyler were both just young teenagers at the time they met, and spent the next decade in a close friendship and a short year of dating in high school. It took some time, but after several relationships that just didn't feel quite "right," and the start of a career, Tyler realized- it had always been Kelsey. From then on, they both poured their heart and soul into making the relationship everlasting. After years of a long distance relationship, Skype calls, and revolving their lives around each other, Kelsey moved up north and Tyler handed her a family heirloom diamond in a quite little garden in the middle of downtown Fort Wayne. After years of anxiously awaiting the moment where Kelsey could answer Tyler's question and promise to be his wife, she exclaimed Yes! as tears were in both of their eyes.

They'll be married next autumn in Wisconsin, surrounded by family and friends from all over the nation that have supported them on this journey. Brandon and I are so blessed to call them best friends and brunch buddies, and can't wait to stand beside them on their magical day. xx- M

Midwest Rustic Barn Wedding // Emma + Josh

Midwest Rustic Barn Wedding // Emma + Josh

On a warm autumn day,  Emma and Josh wrapped their arms around the corner of the barn that their friends and family would soon fill and read handwritten vows as tears streamed down both of their faces. After so many years of friendship and being by each others side, the vows poured out completely naturally, full of love and joy.  After the years of inseparable friendship and creating a life that revolved around each other, Emma and Josh promised each other all the years to come.

It was the day that some friends and family had anticipated for over a decade. Loved ones boasted that they knew Emma and Josh were meant to be long before Emma and Josh ever admitted it, and they were right. Never would it have crossed Emma or Josh's mind back in middle school that they would be eventually standing side by side at the altar. But finally, after years of friendship and dating, after a long two year engagement, Emma walked down the aisle to greet her best friend. As they slipped the rings on each others fingers, Josh never took his eyes off the woman that stole his heart.

Emma and Josh envisioned a day that was down to earth and full of joy and laughter - and that's exactly what it was. They married under the market lights of Salomon Farms and celebrated their marriage under the lanterns of Dupont Downs. Josh and Emma, you're day was absolute perfection and it was such a privilege to document such a special day. Wishing you all the best and sip lots of margaritas in Jamaica - you two deserve it! xx- M & M

Midwest Autumn Engagement Session featuring Proposal Puppy // Jenni + Kurt

Midwest Autumn Engagement Session featuring Proposal Puppy // Jenni + Kurt

It started out as a casual swipe right on her phone, something she barely thought anything of at the time. It wasn't until they decided to meet up at the zoo to get to know each other that Jenni realized there was something different about this man she met on a dating app. His charm, humor, candor, and determination had her wishing the day would never end, and he felt the same way. They turned what was supposed to be a short date to the zoo turned into what Jenni still coins as "the best date day ever." As laughter and endless banter rang through the trees of the rainforest, they planned a trip for mini golf immediately after their walk through the zoo ended. Mini golf turned into dinner, which turned to dessert. And as sun finally set and their first day in each other's lives came to the end, they both knew- this was different. Immediately the next morning, Jenni called her Mom up and told her all about the man she swore she would someday marry.

Flash forward to a home and a life built around each other. Jenni and Kurt have turned into each others cheerleaders, motivators, and best friends. There was just two things missing - a diamond and a puppy. One early evening, Kurt showed up with both in hand and a question that Jenni had been waiting to hear since that first date in the zoo.

We thought it was only appropriate that Lylah joined us on the adventure to celebrate Jenni and Kurt's engagement, and oh my gosh my heart almost died. Jenni and Kurt, thank you for letting me swoon all over your adorable Australian Shepherd all evening and exploring downtown with me! Counting down until next year when I can see all your precious faces again! xx- M

Columbia City Engagement Session // Katlin + James

Columbia City Engagement Session // Katlin + James

He claims he first noticed her because she was walking slower down the campus steps than anyone else. But in reality, it wasn't just the crutches and the cast that caught his attention. Her bright eyes and contagious laugh had caught his attention long before they passed each other on the steps that day. Between attending the same small college campus and Katlin working at the sports complex where James trained, it was only a matter of time that they collide.

Their friendship kindled after James shot Katlin a message through Facebook, and shortly after they found themselves on a date to a county fall festival. As they explored the festival amongst the Indiana changing leaves, they had a difficult time making the conversation end. Before they knew it, they were graduating, enrolling in grad school, and planning their hopes and dreams so they revolved around each other.

James proposed in Katlin's favorite coffee shop, Brew Ha, in the early morning before an entire day of just-engaged celebrations. With a "Will You Marry Me" mug and a crowd of teary-eyed people witnessing the moment, James asked Katlin to be his wife as she breathlessly answered him with a heart full of joy. We thought it was only appropriate that we revisit the coffee shop to reminisce, and to explore the town that Katlin calls home.

Katlin and James, exploring Columbia City and learning about your lives was SO much fun and you couldn't have picked a more perfect fall day. Seriously counting down until we can celebrate your wedding day next August! - xx, M

Alma College Engagement Session // Emily + Adam

Alma College Engagement Session // Emily + Adam

They became fast friends as melodies echoed off the walls of the choir rooms. The college was small and they often found themselves passing in the hallway or hanging out with the same group of friends. As the months passed, the two friends became inseparable. It wasn't until one evening during the midst of a chaotic week of rehearsals and finals, that Adam finally summoned the courage to ask Emily where their friendship was headed. As her heart skipped a beat, she poured a glass of wine and thought of her answer.

Much to Adams surprise, she agreed to go on a date.  As word of their new relationship status spread around campus, Adam and Emily learned about the running bet that had been placed on the possibility of them dating in the future. They walked through campus hand in hand as money was exchanged between their friends and classmates.

Adam and Emily immediately knew that they wanted to visit their alma mater for their engagement session. As we walked through the campus, they reminisced, told stories full of nostalgia, and remarked at how much the college had changed in the few years it had been since they fell in love there. Emily and Adam, experiencing Alma with you was so fun and full of laughter - you two bring out so much joy in each other and I am counting down the days until your wedding! xx- M

Midwest Autumn Boho Chic Wedding // Jessica and Justin

Midwest Autumn Boho Chic Wedding // Jessica and Justin

Jessica is the type of girl who knows what she wants and sets her heart out to get it. Even when it meant buying a plane ticket and fly across the country to see the boy who stole her heart at a party. Because when she saw Justin, she knew. She knew that he would be the last one who made her heart skip from across the room.  Justin is the type of man who sees the empty vase and fills it with flowers. The type of guy that brings home bottles of wine and pours his heart and soul into constantly providing for the two loves of his life - Jessica and Hadley.

On a warm fall day that felt like summer, Jessica and Justin celebrated the last eight years of life together by promising the next sixty to each other. As their little girl twirled through the day in her flower girl dress that looked just like her moms and busted out moves on the dance floor, she witnessed the two heroes of her life emanate joy, love, and commitment to each other.

Jessica, Justin and Hadley, it was such an incredible honor and privilege to witness the love and joy you all have for one another and my heart is so full from documenting your day. I can't wait to see what incredible things you do with your lives and how your family grows - xx, M&M

Elegant Autumn Wedding at The Orchid // Tricia and Matt

Elegant Autumn Wedding at The Orchid // Tricia and Matt

It was two years and one month since Matt had dropped to one knee in the middle of a vineyard and asked her to be his wife. Two years of planning, preparing, crafting countless DIY projects for the day they would marry. Two years of buying a house, spending weeks apart because of traveling work duties, and constantly working to create the most perfect life - a life they only had previously dreamed of.

But even with two years of anticipation for the biggest day of their lives, once the warm sun rose on the September morning of their wedding day, Tricia could only think and speak of Matt. The details, the planning and the desire to have everything perfect faded away the moment she realized that today was the day she would promise her life to the man who held her heart. The first of the fall leaves silently floated through the air as they read their own vows. Happy tears were shed the entire day by family and friends as Tricia and Matt cherished every moment of the day they had dreamed about for so long.

Tricia and Matt, documenting your day was the biggest privilege and such a long time in the making! It was such a blessing to witness the incredible relationship you two share, and sip a margarita for me in Mexico! xx- M&M

Whimsical Boho Backyard Wedding // Jenna + Bob

Their wedding day began with the cool autumn air blowing through the open sides of the tent that was constructed in gorgeous country backyard. As Jenna walked under the market lights and  up to the man that would soon be her husband, the stress of the day instantly melted away as he turned around. Just a few short years earlier, the two led separate lives and just happened to keep crossing paths at grocery stores, get-togethers, and parties. Finally, after years of intertwining their lives, hopes and dreams, the two hearts that were once total strangers became husband and wife as cheers erupted through the sanctuary.

Jenna and Bob knew from the beginning of planning their day that they wanted to encompass all of their dearest family and friends in the most intimate way possible. Every aspect and detail of their wedding held the loving touch of a family or friend. From the celebration in Bob's sisters backyard, to neighbors serving champagne and wine, to close friends serving the barbecue dinner, to the florals designed by an aunt- Jenna and Bob were surrounded by loving acts of service. Family from near and far came together and celebrated the merging of two families, lives, and future generations.

Jenna and Bob, standing amongst your family and friends on your day was nothing of completely magical and it was the biggest honor to witness how powerful your love is. I can't wait to see where life takes you and sip a margarita for me in Cancun! xx- M&M

Huntington Sunken Gardens Engagement Session // Krystal + Trevor

Huntington Sunken Gardens Engagement Session // Krystal + Trevor

There were supposed to be more people at the party that night and Krystal didn't even want to attend in the first place. But she summoned up the courage and showed up to the dock. There, instead of the handful of coworkers that were supposed to be attending, it was only Trevor. Maybe it was lack of loyalty that played a part in their coworkers all canceling that night. but maybe it was fate. As Trevor and Krystal sat on the boat and talked until after the sun had dipped down into the water, something sparked between them.

Focused and determined, they spent the next near decade building a life together. They grew into each others biggest supporters, cheerleaders, partners, celebrators, and parents. Just a few weeks before their tenth year of being in each others lives, they'll be celebrating each other by reciting their vows on the sandy beaches of Jamaica surrounded by the people who love them most. Krystal and Trevor, documenting your little family and love was so fun and joyous-  I'm counting down the days until I can watch the rest of your lives unfold in one of the most beautiful places on earth! xx, M

But when Krystal showed up for the boat ride around the lake, it was only her and Trevor. It He was the teachers assistant in her high school gym class, but they hardly noticed each other. They spend years passing each other in the same hallway, but it wasn't until they found themselves working at the same small-town grocery store when Trevor's heart started jumping a bit when he heard Krystal's bubbly laugh across the room.

Boho Rustic Wedding at Marian Hills Farm // Olivia + Nick

Boho Rustic Wedding at Marian Hills Farm // Olivia + Nick

He was supposed to be his friends wingman when he walked up to the pretty blonde girl at the part that night. But as he struck a conversation about the Dave Matthews Band song playing over the speaker and  he heard her laugh and saw her eyes twinkle, his wingman duties went out the door. Being the dreamer that he is, Nick had envisioned the girl of his dreams for so long. As they bonded over their love of Notre Dame football and the Dave Matthews Band, Nick knew that it would always be Olivia from that moment on.

On their first date, being true to his college sport, Nick took Olivia to center field of the Cal State baseball complex. As candles lit the field and Frank Sinatra echoed through the stadium, the two Midwest college kids fell in love in the middle of Bakersfield, California. And they fell in love fast. A few years down the road, Nick brought Olivia back to the same baseball field, and with the loose change and travel baseball money he had stored in a shoe box titled “The Ring Fund”, he gave her a diamond and a question that would change both of their lives.

Their day was pure bliss as friends and family toasted to the fateful night that Olivia and Nick had crossed paths. As the cool fall breeze mixed with the summer air, Olivia talked about how they had waited over 700 days since the proposal to become husband and wife. Finally, 700 days had passed and as tears streamed down almost every face in the crowd, Nick and Olivia became husband and wife.

Nick and Olivia, your day was so full of joy and so much love - documenting it was the greatest privilege and I wish I could relive it again and again. I can’t wait to see where life takes you and I’ll be praying for sunny weather and lots of margaritas as you depart for the Virgin Islands - xx, M & M

Boho Rustic Wedding at IPFW International Ballroom // Taylor & Mitch

Boho Rustic Wedding at IPFW International Ballroom // Taylor & Mitch

It started as a simple swipe right that turned into a casual meet-up for drinks. The casual drink turned into seeing and talking to each other every day. Her family dubbed it as "Taylor's boy-crazy Mitch stage." Schedules were constantly being rearranged simply so Taylor could see the boy who so swiftly had stolen her heart. It was only a few short months into their relationship when they both knew that this would be the last person they ever swiped right for.

To say Taylor and Mitch are perfectly matched is an understatement. Mitch keeps Taylor's wild-child personality grounded and focused, while Taylor gives Mitch a laugh that is only for him. On their wedding day, that laugh echoed through the reception hall constantly. The joy and love that Taylor and Mitch have for each other shone through every facet of their day. As hundreds of family members and friends doted on Taylor and Mitch, making sure every small detail was taken care of, Mitch and Taylor were only focused on each other.

Taylor and Mitch, documenting your day was the biggest joy and such an incredibly fun and touching day to witness. I can't wait to see how you two do life together, and enjoy lots of margaritas in Punta Canta- you two deserve it! xx, M&M
