Romantic Storybook Wedding at IPFW International Ballroom // Melissa + Andrew

Romantic Storybook Wedding at IPFW International Ballroom // Melissa + Andrew

It was a bright and warm morning as the sun shined through the windows of the cozy hotel room. Girls were buzzing around as broadway music echoed through the halls. Melissa sat calmly on the bed, holding her glass of champagne as she laughed and joked with her closest girlfriends. Nothing could break Melissa’s smiling face that day. She had always dreamed of this day as she sat curled up lost in the stories of the classic literature and novels that encompassed her childhood and free time. In just a few hours she would walk down the aisle to the man who held her heart and would share every laugh, adventure, and moment with her for decades to come.

They planned their wedding around what they loved most - books and each other. From the dress to the twinkling lights, their wedding day was a real live fairytale. Melissa and Andrew strived to make it not only about them, but about their families as well. The cake topper was from Melissa's grandparents wedding over 50 years ago, her jewelry was compiled of family heirlooms, and pictures and memories lined the reception hall of people they dearly loved.

Melissa and Andrew, documenting your day was completely magical in every way. I hope you're enjoying Myrtle Beach and relaxing from all the wedding craziness! Sip a margarita for me - xx, M & M

Bright and Festive Mexican and Ethiopian Two-Day Wedding // Samson + Yecenia

Bright and Festive Mexican and Ethiopian Two-Day Wedding // Samson + Yecenia

Samson is the type of guy who carefully calculates every move, every decision, and everything he says. Friends joked that marrying Yecenia was something that Samson had to cautiously mull over for nearly a decade, and finally, they planned a wedding. But deep down, ever since Yecenia and Samson kept bumping into each other at spots around town, Samson knew that Yecenia was going to shine bright into his future for decades to come. There was no decision to be made when it came to Yecenia being his soulmate.

Yecenia's maid of honor described their wedding day as a meeting for United Nations, and it couldn't be more true. With Yecenia's family originally from Mexico and Samson's being from Ethiopia, they wanted their wedding day to blend the cultures, heritages, and traditions that the two of them grew up with. They incorporated a traditional Mexican Catholic ceremony and interlaced traditional Mexican and Ethiopian traditions into the reception at the Embassy on the warm summer evening. Mexican song and dance echoed through the Embassy Lobby as wedding guests donned masks and glow sticks for La Hora de Loca.

But the party wasn't even close to ending. Friends and family gathered together the next day to continue the celebration of Yecenia and Samson and share traditional Ethiopian food, dress, and song. While most couple's would be caught up in the chaos of a two-day celebration, Yecenia and Samson kept grounded in each other. Even during the most chaotic moments, they talked and laughed and looked after each other. Yecenia and Samson, words cannot describe what an incredible experience and privilege witnessing your love and wedding day was. I am forever grateful and can't wait to see how your trip to Morocco and Spain turns out! You have the brightest souls and the most adventurous hearts and we wish you all the best - M & M

Saugatuck Boat and Beach Engagement // Karlie + Garrett

Saugatuck Boat and Beach Engagement // Karlie + Garrett

It's one of those stories where they first noticed each other from across the room. Garrett couldn't help but watch as the bubbly blonde girl crinkled her nose when she laughed and how the room revolved around her as she sat in the bar with her friends. Although Karlie was a bit distracted that night and claims she doesn't recall meeting Garrett, he didn't give up.  When they happened to meet again a short while later, Garrett pursued Karlie again. It was only after a few short dates that they knew they were meant to be together forever.

They spent the next years traveling, adventuring, and creating a life together. Summers were spent on Garrett's parents boat on Lake Michigan surrounded by family and friends. They would spend days exploring shops, restaurants, and being on the water, so it seemed fitting that we document their relationship on the lake where they fell in love. And as we explored the little town, Karlie and Garrett shared stories of their experiences and days spent in Saugatuck over the years.

They'll be married next year in what they described as a down-to-earth celebration with their closest friends and family. Karlie and Garrett, exploring your town with you was incredibly fun and it was such a joy getting to know you better! Counting down - M

A special thanks to The Old Boat House for letting us borrow their amazing retro boat!!

Oliver Winery Engagement Session // Alyssa + Brad

Oliver Winery Engagement Session // Alyssa + Brad

He noticed her from the moment he stepped through the door. She was his cousin's roommate and her forward but witty demeanor swept him off his feet almost immediately. Brad claims that he had an inkling that Alyssa could be the one from the start.

But she wasn't ready for a relationship. Oh no. Especially not with a man who had such close connections with her roommate and friend. She ignored all the signs and the connections. She made excuses - it wasn't the right time, she couldn't date her friend's cousin, she wasn't ready for a relationship. But finally, after years of crossing paths and after Brad asked several, several times, Alyssa agreed to a date.

From then on, their worlds revolved around each other even when they were worlds apart. They strived to make a long distance relationship work to support each others passion of teaching - even if that passion led them to different countries. We celebrated their engagement in the same spot where Brad had asked Alyssa to spend a lifetime with him. And in less than a year, they'll be promising each other that lifetime together. Alyssa and Brad, exploring Oliver was so fun with you two and thanks for being total troopers with the heat! Counting down the days until we celebrate again - xx, M.

Winona Lake Engagement Session // Taylor + Mitch

Winona Lake Engagement Session // Taylor + Mitch

He was swiping through his phone when the bubbly, freckly-faced girl suddenly caught his eye. He recognized her from work, but working in different departments they had never gotten the chance to cross paths. On a whim and a burst of courage, he messaged her and they started talking. Shortly after, Taylor and Mitch met up for drinks one night. And then the night after. And the night after that. After an entire month of rearranging their schedules and making time for the new friend that had entered their life, Taylor and Mitch realized that there was more to their story than just friendship. What started out as a casual up for drinks turned into movie dates and late nights talking, laughing and planning their future.

Through buying a house to wedding planning to having the best nights out with friends and basketball games, Mitch keeps Taylor grounded and focused while Taylor gives Mitch a laugh that is only for him. To say they're evenly matched is an understatement. They share a passion about life that makes them the perfect partners for each other to do life with.

They'll be married in a few short weeks surrounded by the love and support of the family and friends that have had their backs throughout the years. It's safe to say that it's going to be a big celebration full of laughs and the best kind of tears. Taylor and Mitch, I seriously can't wait to see your joyful souls again and I'm counting down the days - xx, M

Indiana Sunflower Field Proposal Session // Ashtin + Preston

Indiana Sunflower Field Proposal Session // Ashtin + Preston

They spent their high school years passing each other in the hallway. And while Ashtin claims she never noticed him, Preston never could stop staring at the bright, bubbly girl whenever she walked by. As much as he desperately wanted to make a move, something told him it wasn't the right time. But as the years passed, Ashtin and Preston found themselves crossing paths through mutual friends. And one night around a trolley ride through the city they call home, Ashtin summoned up the courage to talk to the boy that she kept locking eyes with across the trolley. They spent the rest of the night in a smooth cadence of conversation that old friends would have, even though they had barely met. And it wasn't until soon after that that Preston realized that Ashtin was the girl who would hold his heart for decades to come.

From placing The Giving Key necklaces inscribed with their anniversary date to making sure Ashtin's favorite flowers flooded the background, Preston spent months carefully prepping and planning the most perfect moment to ask Ashtin to be his wife. And on a drizzly summer morning, Preston swept the girl of his dreams on a weekend getaway. In the middle of a sunflower field, surrounded by her favorite flowers, food, and music, Preston read Ashtin a love letter from his journal and asked her to be his wife.

Ashtin and Preston, documenting this incredible moment was such an honor and a privilege. I can't wait to see where life takes you in the years to come. All the love - M.

Elegant and Bright Embassy Theatre Wedding // Jess + Dan

Elegant and Bright Embassy Theatre Wedding // Jess + Dan

Even on their wedding day, Jess and Dan lived to serve others. From Jess sitting and reading a book to her flower girls during the getting-ready hours of her day, to Dan thoughtfully preparing a love letter to his bride and picking out the perfect groomsmen gifts, every moment of their wedding day they thought of nothing but each other and those around them. Every guest and witness you asked said the same thing - Jess and Dan brought joy, light, and an abundance of laughter every single life they touched.

When asked how she was feeling on her wedding day, Jess exclaimed that she had felt like she was going to burst with joy all day long. And as she walked down the aisle to see the man who had held her heart for so many years, it was easy to tell that that was true. It was easy to see that Dan felt the same. Finally, after playing the waiting game for years on end, the girl down the street from his fraternity was finally going to be his wife.

Jess and Dan, we're still reeling over how perfect, fun, and emotional (the good kind) your wedding day was! You two are the brightest souls. Thank you to you and your family for opening up your hearts and treating us like one of the family. It means the world. We can't wait to see where life takes you, and have the best time celebrating your incredible marriage down south - xx, M&M

Downtown Fort Wayne Engagement Session // Kristina + Brandon

Downtown Fort Wayne Engagement Session // Kristina + Brandon

They passed each other through the aisles of the busy restaurant and occasionally helped with each other with table refills and food running. But as time passed, they realized that they weren't just coworkers. Their humor bounced off of one another and you could hear Kristina's bubbly laugh ring out through the restaurant as Brandon's witty humor entered the smooth cadence of their conversations. They became fast friends and soon their inseparable friendship transformed into a lasting relationship.

Time passed and before he knew it, Brandon was picking out a ring. He could hardly imagine his life without the woman who gave him a daughter, a new perspective on life, and an amazing friendship. As fireworks lit up the night sky at the end of a baseball game, Brandon got down on one knee and slid a diamond on to Kristina's finger.

They'll be married in just a few short weeks, surrounded by the family and friends who have experienced the journey to husband and wife with them. Kristina and Brandon, exploring downtown with you was such a blast and I can't wait till your big day where I can witness your extraordinary love once more - xx, M

Romantic Bohemian Chic Wedding at Goegliens Homestead // Kassie + Kris

Romantic Bohemian Chic Wedding at Goegliens Homestead // Kassie + Kris

Maybe it's the fact that they were both music majors and naturally live in a certain rhythm. Or maybe its the fact that they started out as friends and they learned and grew with each other to reach synonymous movement as a couple. Whatever it is, Kassie and Kris are perfectly in tune with one another and their wedding day represented their one-ness most of all. When Kris reached down to fix his tie, Kassie's hand was already there. When Kassie started to walk, Kris was already lifting the hem of her dress. He knew just the things to whisper in her ear to ease the tension of the wedding day and make her laugh, and she knew just the songs to drag him onto the dance floor to party too.

From tacos on the plates of their guests to tacos on the socks of the groom, Kassie and Kris strived to make their wedding day uniquely them. Notes of lavender from the flower crowns and boutonnieres wafted through the air the entire day. Disney and Broadway echoed from the limo and the dance floor. Every little detail was carefully thought out to represent their relationship in the most perfect of ways, and even during the busiest times of the day, they only thought of each other.

Kassie and Kris, documenting your day was the greatest privilege and I still get goosebumps thinking of you two beautiful souls and the love you share. I hope you're recovering from your greatest day with lots of Pina Coladas on that beach of yours ;)  All the love - M&M

Three Rivers Festival Engagement Session // Alexis and Adam

Three Rivers Festival Engagement Session // Alexis and Adam

It was one of those moments where Alexis hoped she might say something clever or funny in passing when she saw the cute guy at her new job. But as they passed each other and she attempted to greet him, words didn't come out quite the way she expected. Nevertheless, as weeks passed by, conversations became easier and Adam and Alexis transitioned from coworkers to friends. Summer ended and the day after Christmas, they decided to start dating. Years passed and jobs started to change. The possibility of a long-distance relationship loomed in the future, but as fate would have it, they found themselves accepting jobs in the same city.

Shortly after the move, Adam found himself making plans to propose on New Year's Eve. But when the ring arrived in the mail, Adam was too impatient and anxious to wait. He woke up Alexis with a ring, a coffee, and the most exciting question Alexis could hear.

They'll be married this winter, surrounded by snow, loved ones, and lots of champagne. With the humor and laughter that constantly emirate from Alexis and Adam, it's no doubt going to be an absolute blast of a wedding day. Alexis and Adam, exploring Three Rivers Festival was so much fun and I'm counting down the days until your celebration as husband and wife! xx- M

Orchard Ridge Country Club Summer Wedding // Allison + Dustin

Orchard Ridge Country Club Summer Wedding // Allison + Dustin

Allison is a girl who sets her mind to something and gets what she wants. A girl who rules the world with an iron fist but is loyal and loving to those close to her heart. Dustin is the man who keeps her grounded, calm, and holds her independent heart. After years of good Mexican food, comic books, traveling, and creating a life together, they finally were at their wedding day.

Allison and Dustin strived to make their wedding day uniquely them. Between light sabers framing the aisle as they ran down it as husband and wife, to the millenium falcon gracing the wedding cake, they kept their wedding day rooted in what they loved most - the little quirks that made their relationship so wonderfully special.

Allison and Dustin, you're wedding was so full of joy, fun, and so much laughter. Documenting it was an incredible honor and we are forever grateful for treating us as one of the family. Have an absolute blast in Cuba and all the blessings to your new life in Indianapolis - xx, M&M

Indianapolis Museum of Art Engagement Session // Yecenia and Samson

Indianapolis Museum of Art Engagement Session // Yecenia and Samson

If you ask Yecenia, it was Samson that kept showing up across the room at the local bars and restaurants every time she went out. But if you ask Samson, he is convinced that it was Decennia following him. Every time they'd give a friendly wave to their work colleague and be on their way, dining and drinking separately. But eventually, after numerous run-ins, a conversation started and they bonded over good beer, the love of travel, and laid-back adventures

It was their love of travel that led them to Austin, where they planned to have few easy-going days of exploration. When Samson insisted that they make it to the top of a mountain that morning, Yecenia couldn't quite figure out why. But as they rewarded themselves with donuts after the hike on top of the mountain, Samson pulled out his phone to take a selfie, and instead of holding a donut like Yecenia, he held a ring.

They'll be married this August surrounded by loads of friends and families in a two day celebration to merge the two cultures - Mexican Catholic and Ethiopian - into one stunning wedding. Yecenia and Samson, thank you for exploring downtown Indianapolis with me and I can't wait to celebrate with you in just a short month! xx- M

Clear Lake Island Engagement Session // Melissa + Andrew

Clear Lake Island Engagement Session // Melissa + Andrew

She didn't see him coming. As he rounded the corner during their shared shifts at the local restaurants, they ran right into each other. After hurried apologies, even in the midst of the busy shift, Melissa's heart stopped for a second. And since Melissa is a girl who chases after what she wants, she and Andrew started dating a few months later.

Years passed and once again, Melissa didn't see Andrew coming. As he pulled her off the boat onto their favorite little lake island for a picture, Melissa thought nothing of it. Even when he handed her a crisp new Harry Potter book, she gave him a confused look and opened it. But when she opened the book to the Unbreakable Vow and a ring, she looked up and knew exactly what was happening.  On one knee was the man who swept her off her feet (almost literally) years ago. The man who became her best friend, her boyfriend, and now her future.

We celebrated their engagement by exploring the very island where Andrew asked Melissa to be his wife. They reminisced about their past summers spent at the lake and the memories they had made. They'll finish off this summer by getting married in a gorgeous cathedral in Fort Wayne. Andrew and Melissa, you two were an absolute blast to spend the evening with and I cannot wait to document your day in just a few short months. I will see you soon! xx - M

Elegant Embassy Theatre Wedding // Taylor + Andrew

Elegant Embassy Theatre Wedding // Taylor + Andrew

If you ask Andrew how they met, his face lights up and he tells the most animated story. Just a few years ago a pretty brunette walked into his dealership looking for a car. Something between them sparked immediately, and try as he might to keep it professional, they ended up on a dinner date when Taylor arrived back at the dealership with a car issue. The dinner dates continued, and before Taylor knew it, she witnessed the man of her dreams lead her out of a carriage ride to get down on one knee with a puppy and a diamond.

As they sat in rooms across the hall from one another, waiting for the ceremony to start, Taylor drank champagne and begged to get into her dress while Andrew prepped his tux and laughed with his guys. But while they were surrounded by people who loved them and were there to fully support them on their wedding day, Taylor and Andrew were only focused on one thing - seeing each other at the end of the aisle.

The sun shined over the downtown Fort Wayne as Taylor and Andrew promised to be each other's partners for life. Tears fell as they embraced, finally husband and wife. Finally together. They had spent their entire lives searching for that person that they could share the moment of Forever with, and they were finally sharing it with the one who held their heart.

Taylor and Andrew, documenting your love was the most incredible honor. I can't wait to watch your lives unfold as you support each other , love each other, and adventure with each other. Have fun sipping margs on the beach in Mexico, you two deserve it - xx, M&M

Huntington Sunken Gardens Engagement Session // Amber + Logan

Huntington Sunken Gardens Engagement Session // Amber + Logan

His friend begged and begged him to set him up on a blind date with the "perfect girl." Finally, Logan agreed. And as the blind date commenced, he left feeling indifferent and with his mind on the girl that sat behind him in the classroom at the local university. The bubbly hazel-eyed girl seemed fun, bright, and driven. So he made the move. But as much as Amber knew she wanted to date the man that made her laugh until her sides hurt, she knew it wasn't time.  As months progressed, they became good friends who met up for coffee, a good movie at the theater, and exploring Fort Wayne.

Friendship progressed to dating, and dating progressed to Amber getting a phone call one morning from Logan, explaining the rules and guidelines for the surprise he had planned on the unexpected Saturday. And as Amber explored Fort Wayne on the scavenger hunt, revisiting all their favorite spots that they frequented throughout the years, she knew something was up. When she finally reached Logan - standing in the middle of a garden at Goeglein's Homestead - he had a ring in his hand and a question on his lips.

They'll celebrate their wedding day this fall at the same place where they became engaged, surrounded by the family and friends that have supported them on this wonderful journey to marriage. Amber and Logan, thank you a ton for exploring Huntington with me, suffering through mosquitos and the heat. You are the best souls and I can't wait to celebrate with you in October! xx- M

Elegant Romantic Decatur Wedding // Kalie and Lance

Elegant Romantic Decatur Wedding // Kalie and Lance

It was the day that they had waited for for years. The day that Kalie didn't even imagine happening when she first whispered to her friend that the boy was cute and hoped that her friend would keep the secret. The day that Kalie didn't see coming, even when her friend spilled the beans to the cute boy and they started talking. But as conversations grew into dates and dates grew into a serious relationship, that "day" became more real in the back of Kalie's mind.

Years passed and just as her family and best friends witnessed the gorgeous beach proposal a year earlier, they stood and witnessed Kalie walk down the aisle with a look of pure joy as she met Lance at the altar.  After almost five years of being by each others side, they celebrated their everlasting promise by celebrating with the best friends and family the world could provide.

Kalie + Lance, celebrating with you on your greatest day was such an honor and beyond fun. Your family and friends welcomed us like long-time friends and we could not be more grateful. You two are the brightest souls. Thank you so much and have fun at Hogwarts this week! You could not have picked a more magical soulmate or honeymoon. xx- M+M

Whimsical Latin American Wedding at Salomon Farms // Kathleen + Santiago

Whimsical Latin American Wedding at Salomon Farms // Kathleen + Santiago

They fell in love amongst the colorful streets of Cartegena, Columbia. They were both studying abroad and caught each others eye one day in the middle of class. You could almost say it was love at first sight- something about the romance of the foreign city, the gorgeous sunsets on the beach, the brightly colored Columbian buildings and ability to explore and adventure together made Kathleen and Santiago's fall into a fast friendship, then into love, then into a proposal.

It was only fitting that Kathleen and Santiago's wedding represented the roots of their relationship. Kathleen and Santiago dropped little hints of Columbia, their love for Latin-American culture, and their love of travel into their day. But most importantly, their day represented them in the most pure and honest way. They weren't overwhelmed by tradition or fuss. They simply focused on their relationship and the family and friends that had supported them through the journey of being together.

Kathleen and Santiago, witnessing your pure and simple love was such a privilege. I can't wait to see where your wanderlusting hearts take you in life and the journeys you will go on. Eat your hearts out on that delicious Puerto Rican food for me - xx, M

Purdue Engagement Session // Dan and Jess

Purdue Engagement Session // Dan and Jess

She was the girl next door, sort of. They lived on the same block during their time at college and Dan would watch the bubbly education student from across the room and developed a crush. A big one. But Dan knew the timing wasn't right, and they graduated, parted ways, and fell out of touch. And as a few years passed, Jess looked down at her phone one day to discover a Tinder match and a message from the boy who used to live down the street. A few weeks later they sat at their favorite restaurant and talked the night away, bonding over sports, good beers, travel, and their Purdue school spirit.

As they stood underneath Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona a year and a half later, Dan knelt down and pulled out a ring. He had known for so long that Jess was the one, and now the timing was right. They spent the next three weeks celebrating by touring Europe, dining at local European restaurants and dreaming of their life together.

Jess and Dan, it was so wonderful exploring Purdue with you and I'm so excited for your day in just a few short months! Excitedly counting down - xx, M

Fairytale Spring Wedding at Goeglein's Homestead // Megan and Nathan

Fairytale Spring Wedding at Goeglein's Homestead // Megan and Nathan

To say their souls collided when they first met would be an understatement. She was a student still grasping the ropes of the bustling hospital chaos when she walked out the door with a medical cart a little too fast. Before she knew it, she was helping a handsome brown-eyed nurse off the floor, apologizing profusely. And while the medical cart knocked the wind out of Nathan, it was the flustered blonde girl who caused his heart to skip a beat.

Over the next few weeks, Nathan picked up all the extra shifts he could in hopes that he would run into (not be run over) Megan again. And as he investigated further, they finally crossed paths again. As one thing led to another, they started talking, then dating, then falling in love. And the moment Megan watched her little girl run into Nathan's arms, seeking comfort and love, Megan knew that there would never be another man to hold her heart.

They envisioned their wedding day as a perfect fairytale and that's exactly what it was. Friends and family cheered and toasted as Megan and Nathan made their way to the dance floor, finally husband and wife, with the story of their fairytale just beginning. Megan and Nathan, it was the biggest joy documenting your day and I adore watching you light up eachothers lives. Drink a margarita in Florida for me. xx, M

Salomon Farms Spring Wedding // Rachel and Kenny

Salomon Farms Spring Wedding // Rachel and Kenny

It was the kind of day that called for a good classic novel and a cozy blanket. As rain drizzled down the windows, most brides would be beside themselves with worry. But not Rachel. As she watched the cool spring rain hit the pavement, she could only think of Kenny. The 7th grade classmate that turned from a boy she passed in the hallway, to friend, to her soulmate.

And as Kenny stood just a few hundred yards away, he could hardly believe that the girl who stole his heart in the hallways all those years ago was standing before him, soon to be his wife. As the thunder rolled in, Rachel and Kenny stood before their family and friends who had been trying to get them together since high-school and promised to support and cherish each other for the rest of time.

Kenny and Rachel, documenting your day was such an incredible blessing and privilege. I adored watching how deep your love was for one another, and I can't wait to see where life takes you. Thank you for being troopers through the rain and the mud! xx - M
